Today on 13th June 2025, a significant act of compassion and solidarity was carried out by the Sarupathar College students, with the help of respected Principal Dr.Prapti Thakur ,collective initiative of the Professors, NSS Programme Officers Agni B Chetri, NSS volunteers, wards of Bir Chilarai Boys’ Hostel, Biranagana Shadhani Girls’ Hostel, and the students of Sarupathar College.
NSS Programme Officers Agni B Chetri have taken the initiative lead to Shri Bitul Gorh Kamalpur village residence under Sorupani gaon Panchayat along with the NSS volunteers including Shiva Boro, Kuldeep Gogoi, Jayanta Konwar and Joydeep Minj an amount of Rs. 13,000/- (Rupees Thirteen thousand) was raised through voluntary contributions from the college community. This amount was humbly donated to Smti Sakuntala Gorh the mother of Bitul Garh, ex-student of Sarupathar College and a former Assistant General Secretary (AGS) of the College Students' Union for the session 2021–22.
Bitul Garh is currently undergoing treatment for a serious illness, and this donation was made as a gesture of support and solidarity towards him and his family in this difficult time.
This initiative not only reflects the compassionate spirit of our institution but also reinforces the values of unity, empathy, and social responsibility among students and staff members.
