On 1st April 2026, a special lecture was organized by the Department of History at Sarupathar College. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Amiyo Kr. Das, Principal of Joya Gogoi College, Khumtai, Golaghat. The program was held in the Digital Classroom of Sarupathar College.

The topic of the lecture was “The History of Congress Split and the Role of Mahatma Gandhi.” In his insightful presentation, Dr. Das explained the historical background of the split within the Indian National Congress and highlighted the political circumstances that led to the division.
