The Campus Placement Drive (CPD), titled Job Mela, was held on 26th May, 2025, at Sarupathar College. The event was a significant initiative jointly organized by the Sarupathar College Alumni Association, the Career Counselling Cell, and the Training and Placement Cell (IQAC) of Sarupathar College. It aimed to provide meaningful employment opportunities for students and to foster direct interaction between job seekers and prospective employers.
A total of 19 companies, representing a broad spectrum of sectors- from local enterprises to multinational corporations- participated in the drive. Notable among them were L&T Finance, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Tsangpool Tea, Honda Golaghat, Rangdoi Tea Company, Hero Fincorp, Asom Autocorps, Meera Motors, Balaji Agro, HFCL Finance, and DEE Developers. These organizations offered a diverse range of career prospects spanning multiple domains.
Approximately 120 candidates took part in the placement drive, appearing for interviews with the participating companies. Their active involvement contributed significantly to the vibrancy and productivity of the event.
In preparation for the drive, a pre-placement training program titled "How to Face an Interview" was conducted on 24th May, 2025. Organized by the Alumni Association, the program featured a team of expert trainers who guided the candidates on various aspects of interview readiness, including effective communication, presentation skills, body language, and confidence-building techniques. The session was instrumental in enhancing the preparedness and professionalism of the applicants.
The placement drive concluded on a highly positive note. Participating organizations expressed their satisfaction with the quality of candidates and the overall coordination of the event. They commended the organisers for their meticulous planning and appreciated the collaborative efforts that contributed to the success of the initiative.
