The Department of English, Sarupathar College, successfully conducted the Parent-Teacher Meet for the academic session 2024-25 on March 4, 2025. The meeting was held in the presence of Vice Principal Jayanta Bora and all four faculty members of the department.
The event was hosted by faculty member Jerry Timmungpi, while the welcome speech was delivered by Trishmita Borah, Head of the Department. The primary agenda of the meeting was to discuss academic progress, student engagement, and areas of improvement. Teachers Pranjal Dutta and Rini Banerjee highlighted irregular student attendance as a significant issue affecting academic performance. The discussion that followed was highly interactive, with both faculty members and parents exchanging insights and suggestions to address the concern effectively.
A major highlight of the meeting was the inauguration of a handwritten magazine titled Papyrus, which was prepared by the students of the department. The magazine was unveiled by Rini Banerjee, adding a creative and literary dimension to the event.
Overall, the Parent-Teacher Meet proved to be a productive and engaging session, fostering better communication between faculty and guardians while strengthening the collaborative efforts towards student development.
