7 Days NSS Special Camp

Day 1 Report
Date: 23rd July 2025
Venue: Sancha Memorial English Academy (Chungajan Niketan)
The first day of the NSS 7-day Special Camp began with great enthusiasm and dedication along with 30 NSS volunteers and Agni Chetri, Program-officer, Mr. Bikram Alley, Head Master of Chungajan High school and Mrs.Laxmi Alley, Pradhancharya, SME Academy (Chungajan Niketan) joined the programme and helped the team and encourage them. The day’s program included the following activities:
- Campus Cleaning: NSS volunteers actively participated in cleaning the surroundings of the school, removing waste and ensuring a clean and hygienic environment for the students.
- Group Formation: Volunteers were divided into different groups to manage various responsibilities for the upcoming days of the camp. Each group was assigned specific tasks to promote teamwork and coordination.
- Tree Plantation: As part of our environmental initiative, saplings were planted along the boundary of the school. This activity aimed to promote greenery and create environmental awareness among the students and volunteers.
The day ended on a positive note with a group reflection on the importance of cleanliness and environmental protection.
Day 2 Report
Date: 24th July 2025
The second day of the NSS Special Camp began with breakfast in the morning. After that, all volunteers were divided into five groups, with each group consisting of five members, to carry out the day’s activities in a more organized manner.
At 9:30 AM, the groups proceeded to the nearby village to conduct a door-to-door survey. The objective was to collect information about the problems faced by the villagers, such as sanitation, drinking water, electricity, education, and health issues. The interaction helped the volunteers understand the ground realities of rural life.
As part of the environmental awareness drive, each household was given one Mahogany sapling, along with instructions and encouragement to plant and nurture it. The teams returned to the camp at 12:30 PM. Volunteers prepared and had lunch together, promoting the spirit of teamwork and self-reliance.
At 3:30 PM, the groups resumed the survey in the remaining parts of the village, ensuring maximum coverage and meaningful engagement with the community. The day was both productive and insightful, strengthening the bond between the volunteers and the local villagers.
Day 3 Report
Date: 25th July 2025
The third day of the NSS Special Camp was marked by two important activities carried out in morning and evening sessions.
In the morning session, NSS volunteers resumed the village survey, covering the remaining households that were not included on the first day. Volunteers interacted with the villagers to collect data on local issues such as water supply, sanitation, health, education, and employment. The survey helped complete a more comprehensive understanding of the village’s needs.
In the evening session, the volunteers undertook a cleanliness drive at Chungajan High School, in collaboration with the Headmaster of the school. The team cleaned the school premises, classrooms, and surroundings, promoting hygiene and creating awareness about the importance of maintaining a clean learning environment.
Both sessions of the day reflected the NSS spirit of community involvement, teamwork, and social responsibility.
Day 4 Report
Date: 26th July 2025
On the fourth day of the NSS Special Camp, a Medical Health Check-up Camp was organized by the NSS Unit of Sarupathar College at Sancha Memorial English Academy.
A medical team of 8 members from the Sarupathar Co-District Civil Hospital joined the camp and conducted free health check-ups for the students, staff, and local villagers. The camp included general health screening, blood pressure and sugar level checks, and consultations on personal health and hygiene.
The medical team also educated the attendees on preventive healthcare practices, personal cleanliness, and the importance of early detection of illnesses. The initiative received a positive response from the community and successfully raised awareness about basic health care, fulfilling one of the core objectives of the NSS—“Not Me, But You.”
Day-5 Report
Date: 27th July 2025
The fifth day of the NSS Special Camp began with a yoga session in the morning, conducted in collaboration with students of Gyanpith Jatiya Vidyalaya and Sancha Memorial English Academy. The session was led by Debajani Gogoi, one of our NSS volunteers, who holds a diploma in yoga. She guided the students through various asanas and breathing exercises, emphasizing the importance of physical and mental well-being.
At 10:00 AM, an art competition was organized for the school students. The theme of the competition was “Nature Scenery”, encouraging students to express their creativity and appreciation for the environment through art. The participants enthusiastically took part, and their artwork reflected vibrant imagination and awareness of nature. The day's activities aimed at promoting health, creativity, and environmental consciousness among students, while also strengthening the bond between the NSS unit and the local schools.
Day 6 Report
Date: 28th July 2025
The sixth day of the NSS Special Camp began with a Quiz Competition held among the students of local schools. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation, as students showcased their knowledge and quick thinking across various topics.
After the completion of the quiz, the results of both the Art Competition (Day 5) and the Quiz Competition were officially declared. The winners were appreciated for their creativity and intelligence. In the afternoon, a special session was organized for the NSS volunteers and students. The session was graced by Moni Prova Bora, former Principal of Sarupathar College, who attended as the Chief Guest. Other dignitaries present included:
Mrs. Laxmi Alley, Pradhancharya, Sancha Memorial English Academy (Chungajan Niketan), Mr. Agni Bh. Chetri, Programme Officer, Dr. Prem Kanta Bora, Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology, Sarupathar College. During the session, the prize distribution ceremony was conducted. Winners of the art and quiz competitions were awarded, encouraging them to continue excelling in their interests.The day concluded with inspiring words from the guests and a sense of achievement among the volunteers and students alike.
Day 7 Report
Date: 29th July 2025
The seventh and final day of the NSS Special Camp concluded with an important and insightful session on Cyber Security Awareness, conducted for the NSS volunteers.
The session aimed to educate the volunteers on the safe and responsible use of digital platforms, highlighting key topics such as:
1.Cyberbullying and online harassment
2.Password safety and data protection
3.Recognizing online scams and phishing attacks
4.Responsible social media usage
5.Reporting cyber crimes
Volunteers actively participated in the discussion and shared their views and doubts. The session was highly beneficial in today’s digital age, equipping the volunteers with practical knowledge to protect themselves and raise awareness in their communities.
The 7-day camp ended on a positive and empowering note, with the volunteers leaving with enriched experiences, enhanced social awareness, and a strong sense of community service.
