The Finance Club of Sarupathar College, in association with the Department of Commerce and the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), successfully conducted a One-Day Online Workshop on Financial Literacy on 28th February 2026. The programme was organised in collaboration with Market Ka Eklavya by NSDL.
The workshop aimed to enhance students’ understanding of financial literacy and to provide them with essential knowledge for making informed financial decisions.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Pritom Sutradhar, Assistant Professor in the Department of Commerce. Around 100 B.Com students actively participated in the session, contributing to a lively and interactive learning environment.
Mr. Tushar Awasthy, a distinguished speaker associated with Market Ka Eklavya, NSDL, served as the resource person. He delivered an insightful session covering key areas such as the stock market, fundamentals of investment, risk management strategies, and the significance of early financial planning. His presentation offered practical insights and encouraged students to adopt responsible financial habits from an early stage.
The programme concluded with an engaging interactive session, where students asked questions and shared their views. Participants expressed positive feedback, appreciating the opportunity to gain practical exposure to financial concepts beyond academic textbooks.
Overall, the workshop was highly informative and played a vital role in strengthening the financial awareness of the students.
