Implementation of Fourth Year of the FYUGP under NEP 2020 in the College

1. An important meeting of the Academic Council was held on 16 May 2026 at the IQAC
Room to discuss the implementation of the Fourth Year of the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP) under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 in the college from the academic session 2026–27.
2. The meeting was initiated by the IQAC Coordinator and presided over by the Principal of the college. The meeting was attended by the Vice Principal, IQAC Coordinator, Heads of the Departments, and faculty members of all departments. The Principal welcomed all the members present and highlighted the significance of the Fourth Year implementation under FYUGP and its implications for the academic and administrative functioning of the institution.
3. At the outset, the IQAC Coordinator elaborately discussed the guidelines and
provisions related to the implementation of the Fourth Year of FYUGP under NEP
2020. The Coordinator emphasized the need for proper academic planning, student
awareness, infrastructural preparedness, and departmental coordination for the smooth
introduction of the programme in the college.
4. The Heads of Departments and faculty members actively participated in the discussion and expressed their opinions, suggestions, and concerns regarding the practical feasibility of offering the Fourth Year programme. Various issues such as student
enrolment, availability of faculty, infrastructure, research facilities, and academic preparedness were discussed in detail.

7. Awareness Programme for Students:
The college will organize an awareness drive among the students of the 6th Semester
on 20 May 2026 to inform them about the provisions, opportunities, eligibility
criteria, and academic structure of the Fourth Year of FYUGP under NEP 2020.
8. Non-Offering of Honours with Research:
It was resolved that the college will not offer the “Honours with Research” option
during the academic session 2026–27 due to existing infrastructural and academic
limitations.
9. Offering of BA with Honours Only:
The college will offer only the BA with Honours programme for students aspiring to
pursue the 7th Semester under the FYUGP in the academic year 2026–27.
10. No Backlog Provision:
It was decided that students having backlog papers will not be eligible for admission
into the Fourth Year programme.
11. Minimum CGPA Requirement:
Students seeking admission into the Fourth Year programme must secure a minimum
CGPA of 6 in their undergraduate programme.
12. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks offered by the IQAC Coordinator, who
thanked all the members for their active participation and valuable suggestions
towards the successful implementation of the FYUGP under NEP 2020 in the college.
